Agritecture
Fight for the Climate · Store Carbon with Life in Your Building

Plantable waterproof element for roofs, walls and cultivation panels
Kaatop’s main focus is the capture and storage of CO2 from the atmosphere as a building construction element, within the concept of what is called “Agritecture”.
Actively store carbon on the urban surface (estimated at 5 kg of CO2/m2, equivalent to 50 tons of CO2/hectare, which may vary depending on the type of plant and management). Create carbon sinks and “zero” invested emissions in 10 to 15 years.
Reduce the internal temperature of your building, reduce electricity consumption with air conditioning equipment and reduce the pressure for new CO2 emissions.

Differentials
Simplicity and cost: integration of green roof and waterproofing system = 30% to 65% cost reduction for covering a building with a green roof
Water conservation: Kaatop keeps water protected, leaving most of the roof surface sealed against direct evaporation by wind and sun
Performance: reduces the work for weed control

Lighter than a ceramic tile
Imagine if you could simply replace the clay or cement tiles in your building with a leak-tested tile, ready to install and that can be installed directly on the wood or metal structure of the old roof as support, without structural adjustments, without the need for a slab or waterproofing.

Respectful on water resources
Kaatop was designed to protect water in every possible way. The irrigation water of the hydroponic system is collected separately from rainwater and can be recirculated without losing nutrients to the environment.
Furthermore, even when irrigation is turned off, its unique design allows droplets to condense from the humidity in the air - meaning Kaatop is capable of producing water in small quantities - which helps to reduce the system's total water consumption.
